Welcome to Choosing What’s Next
A monthly reflection on career transitions, alignment, and direction, for people navigating change with clarity and intention.
Each edition explores one question:
How do you choose what’s next in your career path?
Not urgently.
Not perfectly.
But in a way that fits who you are now.
One Year In: Choosing Alignment Over Urgency

Twelve months of experience changed how I saw my path, what I wanted, and what I needed.
More than anyone, I needed to pause. To adapt. To align.
Only then could I see the path forward.
Today marks one year of
Jenny Campos Coaching and Counselling
Surprisingly, with a quieter sense of celebration than I expected.
Around November, I was dreaming about a big anniversary party.
Planning data to show my “success”.
Thinking about the next lead magnet to bring in more clients.
December, with its joy and excitement, kept me busy,
draining more energy than I was replenishing.
Plans for big celebrations were set aside.
January came,
I slowed down and sat still for a while.
I no longer felt like throwing a party,
or sharing success data,
or creating more lead magnets, for that matter.
I was worried. Was I not excited about this adventure anymore?
What had changed, and why so suddenly?
I took a step back.
I looked at how I had felt over the past year
and at what these twelve months had actually held.
With a bit of courage and a lot of self-kindness,
I asked myself how I wanted to feel this new year,
and what would truly support that.
Success was no longer just in numbers. It was something deeper.
A desire to bring in the right clients replaced simply bringing in more.
And the big party plans quietly left the room.
Starting a blog was all I wanted to do.
All I needed to do.
The joy returned. The excitement felt grounded again.
I was on the journey I had taken my clients through over the past year.
How could I deny myself the same experience?
You see, I’m not the same person,
nor the same coach,
nor the same entrepreneur I was a year ago.
Twelve months of experience changed how I saw my path,
what I wanted, and what I needed.
More than anyone, I needed to pause.
To adapt. To align.
Only then could I see the path forward.
To celebrate this anniversary, my invitation is simple:
Join me in slowing down before speeding up.
Listen before deciding. Name what no longer fits.
Here, alignment matters more than urgency.
Clarity comes before direction.
Small steps are enough.
It’s not about fixing you or your career.
It’s about choosing what’s next,
in a way that fits who you are now.
